NET ZERO STATEMENT

MET Medical is committed to reducing our carbon footprint and achieving net-zero emissions in line with the NHS Trust's sustainability goals. We recognise the critical importance of addressing climate change and its impact on public health. As a responsible healthcare provider, we are dedicated to ensuring that our operations, services, and supply chains contribute to a healthier planet and a sustainable future.

Our approach to achieving net-zero emissions is focused on the following key areas:

  1. Reducing Energy Consumption: We will continue to improve the energy efficiency of our facilities and operations, ensuring that all buildings are powered by renewable energy sources wherever possible.

  2. Sustainable Transport: We will reduce the carbon footprint of our fleet by transitioning to electric vehicles, optimising routes, and promoting greener travel options for staff and services.

  3. Waste Reduction and Management: We are committed to reducing waste, improving recycling rates, and eliminating single-use plastics within our operations, ensuring responsible disposal of healthcare-related waste in accordance with NHS and environmental standards.

  4. Sustainable Procurement: We will work closely with our suppliers to ensure that the products and services we use are sustainable and responsibly sourced, prioritising eco-friendly and low-carbon alternatives.

  5. Green Healthcare Practices: We will promote sustainable healthcare practices, including energy-efficient equipment, reducing waste from medical supplies, and encouraging digital solutions that minimise paper usage.

  6. Engagement and Awareness: We will engage our staff, patients, and stakeholders in our net zero efforts, providing ongoing training and support to help everyone understand and contribute to our sustainability goals.
